Delete your data — Whale Drop

Last updated: October 22, 2026

Whale Drop never stores or sells your personal data. The app has no accounts: everything you log lives only on your phone, and you can delete it whenever you like, without asking anyone.

How to delete your data

From your Android phone, in any of these three ways:

  1. From the app. Open Whale Drop, and from the main screen's menu go to Settings → Data → Delete data, then choose "Delete history" (only the drinks you logged) or "Delete all data" (the app goes back to how it was when just installed).
  2. Clear the app's data. Open Android Settings, go to Apps, choose Whale Drop, then Storage, and tap "Clear data" (on some phones "Clear storage"). The app stays installed and starts again from scratch.
  3. Uninstall the app. All of its data is removed together with it.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

What gets deleted

Everything the app has saved:

Nothing is kept, not even in anonymous form.

The copy in your Android backup

If system backup is turned on for your phone, a copy of the app's data sits in your Google account. It is handled by Google, not by Whale Drop. After you delete your data it is replaced at the next backup, usually within a day. You can remove it right away from your phone's backup settings or from Google Drive, under Backups.

Data kept by us

No personal data, so there is nothing to ask us to delete. The only things that leave your phone are your approximate location, once a day and only if you turn on "Adjust to weather" (it goes to the Open-Meteo service for that request and is not saved), and anonymous usage statistics, which contain nothing that identifies you: that is why they cannot be traced back to you or deleted per person. You can turn them off in Settings → Data. Details are in the privacy policy.
